| As the
streets are filled with authentic WWII vehicles and WWII uniformed
soldiers, encampments set up and WWII veterans visiting Normandy,
the French and many people from all over Europe and North America
celebrate the unforgettable events of June 6th 1944, D-Day.
There is no better
time to tour beautiful Normandy than on D-Day! The activities and
celebrations in the quaint small towns and on the beaches, will give
you a deep appreciation of the heroic efforts from the soldiers to
free Europe from Nazi occupation. D-Day comes "alive"!
We will drive thru
beautiful Normandy landscape, with its beautiful rolling hills,
blooming poppy fields and quaint little towns, to the Normandy
beaches to visit the D-Day memorial sites. Sites we will tour will
include Point du Hoc, Omaha Beach, the American Cemetery, St. Mere
d'Eglise, Arromanche, Utah Beach, D-Day museum in Arromanche, the
circular theatre, Caen Peace Museum. We will celebrate with the
locals and visitors on the market squares, enjoying the local foods,
music and fireworks. It will be an unique experience!
And to make sure
that on this incredible tour you will experience not only D-Day Normandy, we will also
visit the historic town of Honfluer, with its cozy harbor lined
with skinny soaring houses and it sprawling outdoors cafes. Bayeux,
where a visit to the Bayeux Tapestry, which tells the story of
Willem the Conqueror, will be on the itinerary and a visit to the
island and abbey Mont St. Michel, among the top four
pilgrimage sites in Christendom.
Some of our
accommodations for this tour will be beautiful centuries old restored farm houses,
now wonderful B&B's, filled with regional antiques and offering
wonderful fresh local foods for breakfast and we will have an
authentic French Farm dinner here.
